• STORIES go Wells in the Bath!

SSF were invited to play their part at the Holburne Museum in the Bath Literary Festival on March 10th. Although there were not horads of people rushing through the castle doors, there was an energetic atmosphere with plenty of participation from an audience that ranged from 3 to 73.

Michael Loader who was telling local stories in which the Devil made an entrance, throwing newspaper boulders at the audience, met his twin... ie another storyteller, from Watford, born in Watford General Hospital!

Words from the audience... "It's a great skill to make a small audience feel like a large one"

"The stories were great. We were all transfixed"

Hopefully they all 'unfroze' before wending their ways home

On Saturday March 17 we had three servings of gruesome Gory Stories at the Bishop's Palace in Wells. Audience members young and old, wriggled and squirmed at the grisly tales of human revenge and retribution. The children were especially fascinated by an image on the guttering and on a coat of arms inside the Chapel of the 'biblical pelican' pecking and plucking its chest to feed its three young fledglings on blood... drip, drip, drop!
